Slow Cooked Chicken

If I look back at my 1st attempt in making chicken…. Actually nevermind. Let’s move on!

Now that I have mastered the art of chicken, I use this Slow cooked chicken recipe ALL the time, for my chicken pies, Chicken stuffed raviolis, Pizza’s and so much more!

If you don’t have a slow cooker, it’s fine I got you! You can bake it and still use the same steps asides, I will add a separte portion for baked version but GET yourself a slow cooker, as low as 20$ and so easy to use!! #Dummyproof

The most important part is the marinating!

A marinade is a liquid solution in which you soak foods, particularly meats, before cooking. A marinade adds so much flavor to foods and makes them more tender by beginning the breakdown process of cooking. If you don’t want a dried out, tasteless chicken , you will definitely need to marinate you meats for a few hours, even better overnight!

Prep : 15 / Chill: 3h-overnight /Slow Cook: 5-6h Bake: 5-10 mins / Total : 1.5 days (perfection)

Serving : 1 Whole chicken or amount cooked



Whole chicken or any chicken part
3 branches of celery (Chopped small)
3 Chopped shallots
1 Red onion (Chopped small)
1 Yellow onion (Chopped small)
2-4 Cloves of garlic (Chopped small or grated)
1-3 Jalapeno (Chopped small)
4 tbsp Lemon pepper
1 tbsp Cajun
1 tbsp black pepper
3 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
4 tbsp Olive Oil
2-3 Cubed chicken stock (crumbled)
2 tbsp of olive oil
2 tbsp tomato paste
1 Cup water 1/4 cup Brown Sugar

In a large bowl, combine all ingredients.
Cover the bowl and let chill in fridge overnight.
Set Slow cooker to high, add 2 tbsp of oil
Place all ingredients into the slow cooker.
Cover and cook on high for 3-4 hours, basting every hour. Then on Low for the remaining 1-2 hour.
OPTIONAL: Prepare veggies
OPTIONAL: Add firm veggies (Potatoes, carottes) during the last 1.5h & Add soft veggies (green beans, broccoli, cabbage) during the last 30 minutes of cooking time.
Preheat oven to broil. Place chicken onto a baking sheet, skin side up, and broil until crisp, about 3-4 minutes.

Keep the Juice from the slow cooker and use as gravy add 1-2 tbsp of cornstarch to thicken the gravy.
